Residents on Their Last August Outing



On the last day of August, Oakmont Center residents went on an end of the summer outing. After enjoying a meal at Freedom Diner, they went to Serendipity Yogurt and the Dollar Store. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to have one last trip in the summer weather before it starts getting cooler.

Riverside Church Youth Visit Oakmont Center



August 17th, youth from Riverside Church came to spend the day with our Oakmont Center residents. They assisted with games like Bingo and balloon toss and also conducted room visits to say hello to everyone.

We thank them for volunteering their time.
Our residents truly enjoy these visits.

Go Steelers!



Oakmont residents are already getting ready for football season. Not only did they hold a tailgate party for their Steelers, but a group of residents also attended the team’s training camp. We’re excited to see what happens this season. Go Steelers!

The Oakleaf: August 2016 Edition



Carnival Show at Oakmont Center



Today, August 4th, Oakmont Center was visited by these talented individuals for our Carnival Show. Residents were incredibly impressed and enjoyed the performance.

Craft of the Day: Decorating Bird Houses



Today, residents at Oakmont Center decorated bird houses as their craft for the day. We look forward to hanging these around the property and watching the birds throughout the year.

Honoring Our Veterans



Oakmont Center recently held a special ceremony to honor our residents who are Veterans. It was a beautiful and emotional event. Lisa Ferraro from Aseracare Hospice and her team of Veterans/volunteers united with our Activity Department to honor our Veterans with pins and certificates of appreciation. It was a touching ceremony. We are so grateful for Lisa and her team.

Father’s Day and the U.S. Open at Oakmont Center



On June 16th, in preparation for Father’s Day and in celebration of the U.S. Open in Oakmont, PA, the residents of Oakmont Center held their own U.S. Open with mini golf. While the weather wasn’t ideal for playing outdoors, we brought the fun inside. Korn Hole was also available for those who wanted to play.

A Summer Visit to Riverside Park



June 30th, Oakmont Center residents and their families went on an outing to Riverside park along with volunteers from Riverside Community Church. There they enjoyed good food and explored the park amenities, including the track and playground. Volunteers helped residents play games like Bingo and korn hole and assisted in serving lunch.

It was a wonderful day made better by some excellent company.

Entertainment with Trina Janura



On June 24th, residents took advantage of the warm weather and spent time on Oakmont Center’s patio. Joining them was local entertainer Trina Janura who performed for residents and their guests. Of course, no summer night outdoors would be complete without a roaring campfire to finish the day off.
